If done correctly, after a perfect throw, the ball will roll on top of the rail and hit the red button at the end. You will hear a click followed by the sound of an explosion if that happens. Harry Potter hops on his broom stick to hit each and every gaming platform, with Wii receiving what is perhaps the definitive version of the Half-Blood Prince. Does EA truly bring Hogwarts to life with this video game adaptation of a bestseller, or should you simply wait on the movie?
Regardless of which version of Harry Potter
and the Half-Blood Prince game you opt for, the story is going to be pretty much the same. Rather than branching off to explore some unique plot, the console game aims to run you through the book’s main events by way of exploration of the fabled Hogwarts School of Wizardry and three basic mini-games.
Aside from one brief instance in the game where you’ll exert limited control over Ron Weasley, you’ll take control of Harry using the analog stick on the Nunchuk. Moving Harry around feels natural, and you can walk or jog depending on how far you push on the control stick. He can also run fast when holding the Z button, though that’s best reserved for navigating wide-open spaces.

As is the case with EA’s handling of most licensed games, Half-Blood Prince pretty much leads you by the nose each step of the way. You’ll first meet up with Ron and Hermione for a bit of clean-up on the Weasley farm, in which case you’ll be instructed on how to cast your first spell, Wingardium Leviosa. This spell allows you to lift things highlighted in the environment, and it’s executed by pointing the Wii Remote and pressing A over the desired object. Once locked onto an object, you flick the Wii Remote upward to levitate it, aim with the control stick, and toss objects with a forward-flicking gesture. Casting works fairly well, but it only comes into play in the main story a handful of times. You’ll otherwise be using this type of utility spell to collect crests hidden throughout the game (more on that later).
Half-Blood Prince on Wii plays, in some respects, like a Grand Theft Auto game, affording the player a fair amount of freedom to explore. There’s only one way to progress in the story, but between scripted events, you can wander around Hogwarts at your leisure. This is also the most impressive element of the game, and when it comes to offering a sandbox based on the Harry Potter universe, Half-Blood Prince pushes the envelope on Wii. There are zero load times when moving from area to area, and the school feels truly alive.
Considering the scale of Hogwarts, it is unfortunate there isn’t an overworld map to consult. In lieu of a map, however, you can call on the aid of Nearly Headless Nick, who will either offer clues about your next objective or lead you directly to it. It’s a mechanic that works great during the main game, but the lack of an actual map can make covering the whole of Hogwarts a bit tedious after the tale has been completed.
The actual story portion of the game is really short, clocking in at about five hours, give or take. Half-Blood Prince uses three mini-games and a handful of spells to move the story forward, and as brief as the experience is, you’ll likely be glad to see it end. Using Nick, you’ll be led to one mini-game after another. The story uses the minis as an excuse to get to the next bit of plot and dialogue (or perhaps it’s vice versa?), though the payoff is sparse. Whereas the handheld version of the game offers players nice, large chunks of dialogue, the story in Half-Blood Prince on Wii feels incidentalLuckily, the mini-games on offer here are mostly fun, even if two of them are played into the ground. The first one you’ll come across is potion making, and it’s not only worked into the story in clever and interesting ways, it’s also the most fun you’re likely to have in the entire game.
When making potions, you’ll see symbols scroll up on the bottom right of the screen, instructing you either to interact with your cauldron in a specific way or to add certain ingredients. In order to add liquid ingredients, you’ll point the Wii Remote at a bottle, and then make a lifting gesture; you then pour by tilting the remote sideways, and when you feel a rumble on the controller, you’ve used enough of that particular ingredient. If you add too much of a particular ingredient or make a mistake, smoke will puff up around the pot, which you’ll then need to wave away by shaking the Nunchuk. Adding solid ingredients, such as dragon dung or rat’s spleen, is done in much the same way, though you’ll simply press the A button to drop items in once they’re over the cauldron. Some liquids need to be shaken slightly, and occasionally you’ll be called upon to either fan the flames or stir the pot. The beauty is, the controls for making potions work great, and the activity is a ton of fun.
Another major part of Half-Blood Prince is quidditch, and here your main goal is simply to ride your broom stick through star markers in order to chase after the golden snitch. It’s an on-rails event that’s controlled using the pointer functionality of the Wii Remote, and again, the controls here work splendidly. However, you’re forced to play through a practice run each time the mini-game pops up in the story, which quickly drains the fun out of the experience.
The last, and most abused, mini-game is dueling. You can’t have a Harry Potter game on Wii without some form of wizard combat, and for the most part, it’s executed well. But again, the developers shamelessly pad the length of the game and create artificial obstacles by forcing you into one duel after another during climatic portions of the story. The pacing feels stapled together and disjointed, and when spamming one particular spell usually guarantees success, combat grows old quickly.
There are six spells you can eventually learn for use in dueling, and each is executed using gesturing. Stupefy is your main attack, which shoots fireballs at your enemy, and the spell is cast by making a jiggling motion with the Wii Remote. Other spells, such as Expelliarmus or Levicorpus make use of both controllers, and though you can routinely cast these spells successfully with a bit of practice, there were plenty of times our gestures were misread, causing us to cast a completely different spell than what we had intended

Easy Studs
At the start of Chapter IV, Episode 1, build the first two control panels. After building the control panels, move to the left of the room, and pull the lever. Keep pulling the lever and collecting the Studs. Repeat this as many times as desired.
Use the following trick to get over 50,000 Studs easily. Go to the Podrace, and use one of the speeders from the beginning of Episode II. These are great for hitting the pink crystals because they have better mobility. Use Subulba's Podracer when hitting the little poles. It is easier to hit them with a wide Podracer. You can easily get over 50,000 Studs each time, and it is one of the quickest levels.
There are several ways to get Studs by destroying chairs, trash cans, etc. There are two fan covers on the ground outside the Cantina that give lots of Studs. Inside the Cantina is a location that gives a lot of Studs. In "Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi" is a table in the middle of the room with blue chairs. Use The Force on these chairs several times. Some Studs should appear each time this is done.
At the start of Episode IV: Chapter 5 - A New Hope, get to the part where you must build the giant door and break it. Make sure you have the "Character Studs" and "Stud Magnet" cheats enabled. Keep killing the Stormtroopers until you have the desired numbers of Studs, then complete the level. Note: It is also recommended that you enable "Invincibility" so you cannot lose Studs or die.
Buy the "Poo Money" and "Stud Magnet" cheats. Then, go to Episode V: Chapter 2. Near the end is a ship where you must push two bricks into the slots. There are two animals inside. Shaking Handswith an Old Friend

If you are like me, you've been waiting for another traditional platformer starring everyone's favorite Nintendo antihero for quite a few years now. After numerous excellent Wario games helped defined the platforming experience on a variety of Nintendo's portable systems, it was certainly odd to not see a timely sequel to Wario Land 4. Instead, fans received numerous Wario Ware titles, an underwhelming attempt at a 3D platformer in Wario World, and the clunky travesty that was Wario: Master of Disguise.
Sure, Wario Ware was groundbreaking when it was initially released, but several iterations later most Wario fans are still waiting for the more substantial and traditional gameplay experience that was present in Wario's previous games. Luckily, this is exactly what Shake It! offers, a new Wario game that you won't just dust off at parties, but one that actually provides significant value as a single-player affair.

Mario's antithesis attempts to merge motion controls with old school platforming goodness in his first 2D platforming appearance on the Wii. Unfortunately, this marriage only meets with moderate success. Playing Shake It! with the Wii-mote turned on its side, mirroring an NES pad, feels incredibly natural, but the shaking mechanic ends up being a tad awkward. Frequently raising and lowering the controller rapidly to shake coins and items out of enemies or to perform ground pounds does little to add to this game's overall enjoyment. Instead, the frequent shaking does nothing more than make your arms sore and add a tedious and time-consuming step between Wario and his various objectives. Pounding the ground can result in solving puzzles that were solvable in previous titles using just a simple shoulder dash or butt-stomping. The same goes for collecting coins. Wario has always attained coins from vanquished foes and broken blocks but now will only be able to do so from incessantly shaking enemies and sacks of money.
Thankfully, not all of the included uses of motion controls fare as poorly. Tilting your controller also plays a large role in this title. Everything from aiming a Wario-launching cannon to hurling enemies at specific targets incorporates this control scheme rather well. The only time these controls feel a little out of place is during the game's underwater subwarine levels; yes, you heard me right. Piloting your jagged mustache-adorned yellow and purple subwarine is often painful, having players tilting their controllers to direct their vessel and the D-pad to propel it forward and backward. Since these levels aren't particularly long or challenging, the required controls don't manage to spoil what are otherwise good distractions from the classic platforming levels.
Besides the few subwarine levels, Shake It!'s levels are exactly what Wario Land fans have been waiting for. Players will make their way through this game's twenty plus well-designed levels, possibly finding hidden treasures and completing missions along the way. Every level contains three locked chests waiting to be found that include random treasures, such as the full body goggles and week old curry. The odd sense of humor involved in these treasures, and with the game in general, is absolutely reminiscent of previous games in the franchise. Levels also contain between three and five missions that will give players more objectives to complete in addition to just finishing each level. These missions can range from defeating a hidden golden enemy to not falling into water during a level. While there are some rather abstract missions in the game, many wind up just requiring the player to collect a certain number of coins, not take any damage from foes, and finishing the level within a certain amount of time.

RollGoal mini-game
After receiving a letter about new events near Zora's Domain, go to the Fishing Hole in Upper Zora's River. It is through a door in a cliff just east of the canoe rentals. After reaching the fishing area, go inside the nearest building and talk to the guide (Hena). Decline her offer to fish. Walk into the top right corner of the room and press C to look at the board game on the shelf. The guide will instruct you to play "RollGoal", a mini-game designed mostly to show the capabilities of the Wii-mote. The mini-game costs 5 Rupees per play and you win 10 Rupees for each round completed. Successfully complete the 1-8 round to unlock the Frog Lure. Successfully complete the 8-8 round for Hena to completely fill your wallet and to unlock the Special Edition of the RollGoal mini-game. This version of the mini-game is free and allows you to choose any level with a time limit of 4:00:00, but you cannot win any Rupees.
Getting Bomb Bags
To get Bomb Bag 1, purchase it from Barnes Bomb Shop in Kakariko after the second temple. To get Bomb Bag 2, free the Goron from the giant lava rock located underwater in Zora's Domain. To get Bomb Bag 3, destroy the rock barriers for the River Canoe mini-game owner.
Bigger Bomb Bags
Score 25 points playing Iza's boat game by shooting jars on the way down to Lake Hylia. Yellow jars are worth 1 point and red jars are worth 2 points. After you score 25 points Iza's helper will allow you to carry double the bombs in all of your Bomb Bags. The amount of bombs in each bag depends on what type of bombs you are currently holding in each bag.
Bigger Quivers

Bigger Wallet
The Adult Wallet can be obtained after defeating the giant Twilight Bug at Lake Hylia. Go to Hyrule Castle Town as a human, then go to the southeast alleyway and look for a door. Go inside and give Agitha any Golden Bug you have collected and she will give you an Adult Wallet (Big Wallet), capable of holding 600 Rupees. One Golden Bug is outside the south entrance of Castle Town, on the top of a large vine covered column. Blow up the rocks with a bomb and a Golden Ladybug will come out. It will resemble a point of light. Hit it with the boomerang and grab it with A. There are also two Golden Ants in Kakariko and Kakariko graveyard.
To get the Giant Wallet that is capable of holding 1,000 Rupees, collect all 24 Golden Bugs and then bring them to Agitha in Castle Town South Road.
Fairies
Locate the Gerudo Mesa and Cave Of Ordeals in the Gerudo desert to be able to unlock Fairies, and later Great Fairies, at each spring around Hyrule. Successfully complete the indicated number of rooms in the Cave Of Ordeals to unlock the corresponding Fairies. Smaller fairies can be bottled and used to restore up to eight hearts. Easy Hearts
When you defeat the Boss of the Yeti's place, the two Yetis will hug. About 300 Hearts will appear. Each time you talk to them another one will come out.
When you are low on Hearts, go to any spring whose spirit you have returned (for example, Ordona's spring in Ordon). Walk around in the spring for awhile and your hearts will slowly fill up. Alternately, you can go to the Hot Springs at Death Mountain to regain Hearts.
Easy Heart Pieces
To easily find the locations of all Heart Pieces, go to Fanadi's Palace in Hyrule Castle Town and pay her 10 Rupees for a Love fortune. She will show you an area in the game that contains a Heart Piece around it, which is obtainable in some manner. Repeat this and she will show you other locations, but she will sometimes repeat the same location a few times.
When you are a wolf, go to Lake Hylia and play the song that gets Plumm near you. Talk to him and he will tell you the game will start when you take flight. Play the song again and a giant Twilight bird will come pick you up. Get 10,000 points by hitting only the red ones and get a big combo (shown in the lower right screen). When you finish, he will give you a Heart Piece. If you do it again and surpass your high score, Plumm will give you 100 Rupees.
Easy Rupees
Exit Castle Town through the south gate. Climb the pillar to the left. At the top is a circle of rocks. Turn into a wolf and dig in the middle. You will drop into a cave filled with water with two small islands on each side. Kill the enemies for a chest, then knock down the bee hive for bait. You can catch record breaking Pike and Greengills here and nearly every other cast can yield a bag of Rupees. It is possible to fill your wallet here.
After you have filled your third Vessel Of Light and are again in human form, go to the Howling Stone high up on the cliff by Lake Hylia (the one you could not reach as a wolf). Behind it is a bombable wall leading into a cave. Bomb the wall and go in. Make sure you have plenty of Bombs and Lantern Oil. Bomb the walls all around the cave to find enough Rupees to fill your wallet.
In Kakariko Village, after you have the ability to change into a wolf whenever desired, and after you can make bomb arrows, turn into a wolf and jump on top of the big building with the giant bell on top. Shoot the bell with a Bomb Arrow to get a Silver Rupee worth 200 Rupees.
This trick requires the bow combined with bombs. Warp or go to Kakariko Village. At the top of the Shaman's house is a giant bell. Aim the bow to the inside of the it and shoot. You can see it clearly with the Hawk Mask that you can buy at Malo's Mart. A kind of light will fall from the inside and stays on the roof of the house. To get it you must go where no one can see you and transform into a wolf. At the side of the house there is a hand-cart. Get over it and Midna will help you jump to the top of the house. There will be a Silver Rupee worth 200 Rupees.
Go to Lake Hylia to play the little bird's mini-game where you pop the fruit balloons. Get a perfect score by getting everything at the beginning (you should have 24 points) then just hit all twenty strawberries to get a Silver Rupee worth 200 Rupees.
There is a dog and bone near the Castle Town west gate. If you throw the bone into the patch of grass to the right of the doctor's house, the dog will try to get it, but will instead come back with a Rupee. You can do this as many times as desired.
Go to any place that has a lot of birds flying around (for example, the bridge over Lake Hylia) and kill all the birds with your bow and arrow. Once all of them have been killed, a number of Rupees of different values will fall to the ground.
Once you have the Zora Armor and can dive into deep water, dive into the water in the center of Zora's throne room. Lift up the small rocks on the bottom and around the area to find high value Rupees. Four or five rocks have Yellow Rupees (worth ten Green Rupees), a couple have Blue Rupees (worth five Green Rupees), and one has a Red Rupee (worth twenty Green Rupees). Once you have collected all of the Rupees, rise to the surface and exit the throne room. Then, go back into the throne room and dive back in to find the now respawned Rupees. This is a quick way to fill your wallet.
Go to Death Mountain and a Goron will ask if you want to climb on. Say "Yes", and continue following the path. A second Goron will asked you the same thing. Say "Yes" and look to the right. When you arrive, grab the rock, and a Red Rupee (worth 20 rupees) will appear . Continue following the path and grab the other rocks. Each one will have a Red Rupee. You can do this as many times as desired.
Easy Blue Chu Jelly
In the first actual room of Lakebed Temple, there will be Blue Chu Jelly. You can collect this as many times as desired, as long as you leave the temple each time before you get it again.
Easy Lantern Oil
Kill a Yellow Chu and then immediately afterwards take out your lantern and scoop up the jelly to fill it to the brim.
Easy Lantern Oil and Red Potion
After getting an Empty Bottle you can get as much Lantern Oil and Red Potion for as cheap as 0 Rupees (the unsafe way) or 1 Rupee (the easy and safe way). Go to the small shop near the Forest Temple run by the talking bird. You can take whichever item desired. If you do not wish to pay, run. If you are not fast enough the bird will attack you repeatedly, then when you return he will call you a thief and may attack you again. However, if you want to use the safer method, grab as much as you desire, then walk over to the box besides the bird. Only pay 1 Rupee no matter what the price is. He will make a comment about how cheap you are getting it for, but will not attack.
Easy kills
When you have the Ball and Chain, throw it behind your enemies. If it hits them on the way back it is very powerful and should kill them in one hit.
When you have the Shield Bash and Helm Splitter, do a Shield Bash and press A afterwards to do a Helm Splitter. Then, do a spin move. This is helpful when you are facing one enemy and your health is low.
Easy Flight-By-Fowl mini-game wins
Once you unlock Falbi's Flight-By-Fowl mini-game on Lake Hylia, save immediately after you enter his hut. Then, pay for the mini-game and try to land on the top tier platform. If you fail, reload to start again inside his hut. Repeat this as many time as desired to avoid having to pay 10 Rupees to get launched from Fryers attraction each time.
Free arrows
To get free arrows, find an enemy that shoots arrows at you (usually fire arrows). Keep dodging them. After the arrows that were fired at you hit the ground, you can retrieve them. You may only have a few seconds to do this. Repeat this as many times as desired.
Sparkling gold Chu Jelly
The rare Chu jelly (golden and sparkling) can be found in various places (for example, in the Snowpeak area). This is very valuable Chu jelly because it restores all of your hearts and also temporarily increases your attack strength.
Always daytime
Gain access to the City in the Sky. Whenever you go there and leave it will be daytime.
Make day and night appear faster
Stand in an area without moving. Notice that time will move very slow between day and night. If you move and do things, it will move a bit faster. If you want day or night to appear a lot faster, do a combination of moving and warping to make the effect happen faster.
Restore health
When you are low on health and are not in the middle of something, go to Southeast Hyrule Castle Town. If you have not already done so, complete the STAR mini-game. This is the game inside the large purple circus tent. Afterwards, talk to the three girls directly outside. After they "freak out" about you, three hearts should appear. You can repeat this as many times as desired.
When your health is low and you see a fairy, take out your bottle and run into the fairy. While the fairy is circling around, use your bottle. The fairy will heal you and be captured in your bottle.
When your health is low, catch some fish. You can do this as many times as needed.
Safe fall
When you are in Ordon, pick up a chicken and run off a hill or some other high location. The chicken will flap its wings and you will be able to hover to the ground.
Resume game easily in dungeons
While in a dungeon and you save and turn off the game, when the game is resumed you normally have to go through the entire dungeon again to get back to the room where you left off. To avoid this, before you save use your Ooccoo and warp out. Then, save and turn off the game. When you turn it back on, use your Ooccoo again to resume in the room where you left off.
Frog Lure
To get the Frog Lure, which is a great lure for catching Bass, you must complete all eight levels of the RoalGoal mini-game found in the owner's establishment. To play it, just look at it in first person using C. The game requires 5 Rupees per play and you win 10 Rupees for each round completed, and the Frog Lure for the eighth. Note: If you run out of Rupees before getting the lure, you can mow the tall grass just outside (in the Fishing Hole area) for around 60 Rupees.
Sinking Lure
To get the Sinking Lure, you must catch a Hylain Pike, Hyrule Bass, and a Ordon Catfish in the Fishing Hole area with the Lure Rod. Once you have caught one of each, go to the south east corner of the water closest to the house. Use the Fishing Rod (bobber) to catch the Sinking Lure. Note: Make sure Hena does not see you use it or she will take it away.
Hylian Loach
To catch the Hylian Loach, go to the northern-most cove during the summer. Cast the Frog or Sinking Lure in the lily pads. Once he bites, he is hard to reel-in.
In the Zora Temple, find the room where you get the Boss key. There will be Skull Fish and two Hylian Loaches. Be careful not to catch a Skull Fish as they just take up bait.
Bottle in Fishing Hole
Go to the Fishing Hole and find the sign that says "No Littering!" You can get a bottle if you fish on the left side of the bridge that is near that sign; it is darker water than normal.
Catching a fish
At the beginning of the game, you must catch two fish. Go to the area where you see the cat, then begin fishing from the dock. Throw the line into the water and wait until the colored bobber sinks below the screen. This means a fish has bitten. Quickly lift the Wii-mote up hold it there. If done correctly, a "Fish on" message will appear. Continue holding the Wii-mote up until Link reels the fish in. Throw the second fish away, so the cat takes it.
Skeleton fish
In the Zora Temple, once you have dived into the pool with the fish inside, take out the fishing pole (bait works faster). Cast into the water, and you will soon catch a fish that will not be recorded because it is forbidden.
Finding Worms
Go to the Fishing Hole behind the sign at the entrance to find three little mounds of dirt. Turn into a wolf and dig these up to find Worms. Put them in an empty bottle and use them as bait to make fishing easier.
Hylian Shield
Once you complete the Goron Temple and free Hyrule from the Twilight, go to Hyrule Town. Go to the southwest side of the town square. Enter the building there. Immediately when you enter, you should see a Goron standing there. Talk to him and he will thank you for saving their mines. He will then ask if you would like to buy the Hylian Shield for approximately 210 Rupees.
When you are in the Goron mines, go to the village beneath it, then go to Huryle Field. The postman will soon run up to you, giving you a letter that describes the Hylian Shield. The general store in the village beneath Death Mountain (Goron mines) has the shield for 200 Rupees.
Control Cucco
Hit a Cucco approximately eight times to go into its view and to be able to move it around. The easiest way to do this is just after you get the Iron Boots. Walk outside the building to find a Cucco. Wear the boots and roll into it eight times.
Finding Ilia's scent
Once you get the last Fused Shadow piece and enter Twilight, jump off a bridge to land in water and find the scent of Ilia.
Talking to Epona
When you able to become both human and wolf, go to a patch of "Horse Calls" as a wolf. Press A to howl. Howl the song as indicated with blue lines, and Epona will come to you. Still as a wolf, go up to Epona and talk to her. She will tell you to hurry up and turn back into a human.
Getting the kitten back to the shopkeeper
To get the kitten in the Prologue, you must have a Fishing Rod. Go behind the locked house and catch a fish. Then instead of pressing A, press B. Link will throw the fish at the cat. The cat will take the fish back to the shop. Talk to the shopkeeper to collect your reward.
Scared soldiers
Go to Castle Town as a wolf and cause an uproar in the square. Soldiers will come out to fend you off, but they will cower if you get close. Let them surround you and wait for them to get close. Then, use your dark field to do a special spin attack. This will scare the soldiers away and make them drop arrows, Rupees, and Hearts.
Playing fetch
In Castle Town, after entering the gate to the east, go south as if traveling to Agitha's house. There is a brown and white dog laying by a tree near a bone. Pick up the bone and throw it. The dog will run to get it then bring it back for you to throw again.
Dragging chickens underwater
Go to any place with water and chickens. Throw the chicken in the water and then use the Iron Boots to sink to the bottom. Then, use your Clawshot and bring the chicken to you. The chicken does not do anything special when under the water.
Mirror
After getting the lantern, go to Link's house and climb down into the basement. Take out your lantern and look around the area of the chest with the purple Rupee to find a mirror. Switch to first person mode to see Link's reflection.
Move small statues in Temple Of Time before getting Fishing Rod
Use the following trick to move small statues before you have the Fishing Rod. Take out your mace and chain and throw it behind the statue. It will eventually slowly drag it. You can use this to get past the force field at the beginning to get the heart piece.
Walk upside down without Iron Boots
This trick can be done anywhere there is a magnetic ceiling, such as the first one encountered in Death Mountain Mines. First, equip the Iron Boots to the D-pad but do not put them on. Then, go under the magnetic field and equip the Iron Boots. In mid flight up to the ceiling, press Minus and put an item where the iron boots were on the D-pad; make sure the Iron Boots are not anywhere on the D-pad. When you unpause the game and finish flying onto the ceiling, you should be on the ceiling without the Iron Boots on and will stay there and be able to walk faster. To get down, walk off the magnetic part of the ceiling or equip and unepuip the Iron Boots.
Alternate sword sheathing
Immediately after killing a monster, press A to put away your sword. It will do the same sheathing move as when you kill a Boss or when you learn a new Hidden Skill.
Giant puzzle solution in Sacred Grove
At the entrance to the Sacred Grove, you will howl from a symbol on the ground (resembling the Triforce) to make two stone giants come to life on a group of blocks. They will ask you to lead them to their sentry post by hopping on the blocks. Jump in the following pattern: left, down, right, right, up, left, up, up, left, down, down, right, up. They will congratulate you and allow you to pass on to the Master Sword.
Killing rats in Gerudo Desert temple
When you are in certain rooms of the temple and begin to walk funny (almost as if you have the Iron Boots on), transform into a wolf and turn on your senses. You will find that little rats have attached themselves to you. Use the wolf's spin attack to kill them. Turn back into a human and you will be able to walk and run normally again.
Fighting skeletons in Gerudo Desert temple
When you are in the temple and you come into contact with the large skeletons that paralyze you when they shriek, continually press A to roll out of the way just before they hit your paralyzed body with their sword.
Better quality sound
During the game, sounds like your sword being swung, menu selections, item switching, etc. are played through the Wii-mote speaker, which is shallow and sounds cheap. Although it makes the experience have more depth, the sound quality of that depth is low. Press Home and turn the Wii-mote speaker volume all the way down to shut it off. All sounds will now play through your television or sound system, and will be of much better quality.
Triforce on Golden Ladybug
While in Princess Agitha's house, if you have already caught a Golden Ladybug, look on its back. When the glow goes away you should see the Triforce in the center of its back.
Golden Bug locations
The locations of all 24 Golden Bugs are as follows:
Ant - Kakariko Village: The male is located on a tree to the right of the hole in the back of the Kakariko graveyard. The female ant is in the house just prior to the bomb shop on the west side of the village.
Beetle - Faron Province, Hyrule Field: The male is located on a tree in the southern portion of Hyrule Field. The tree is positioned between two raised land masses. The female is on a tree on the western side of the field. It is just south of the giant dirt patch.
Butterfly - Hyrule Field east of Castle Town: The male is just south of the east entrance of Castle Town is a small flower patch containing the male. The female is on a vine-covered ledge just northeast of the east castle town exit.
Dayfly - Gerudo Desert: The male is found in the southern part of the desert, almost dead center, north of the barricades. The female is found in the trenches at the southeast end of the desert (near the chunk of bridge). It is recommended that you do this at nightfall.
Dragonfly - Zora's Domain: The male is on top of the hill at the southwest end of the domain. The female is right in front of the boating game shack.
Grasshopper - Eldin Province, Hyrule Field: The male is at the entrance to Kakariko Village. The female is at the northeastern part of the map. This is best done at night.
Ladybug - South of Castle Town: The male is on the vine covered pillar southwest of the gate. The female is near the three trees of the left side of the balcony.
Mantis - Great Hylian Bridge: The male is on the wall of the northern half of the bridge. The female is on a rock just south of the bridge. It is easier to find her by looking at the bridge.
Phasmid - Eldin Bridge: The male is on the arch on the south end of the bridge. The female is on a cliff to the north of the bridge. You will need the Clawshot.
Pill Bug - Kakariko Gorge: The male is on the southern end of the bridge. The female is found by some flowers on the southwest corner, north of the bridge.
Snail - Sacred Grove: The male is on the inside of the southwestern alcove. The female is inside the Temple Of Time, on west side of the staircase.
Stag Beetle - Hyrule Field north of Castle Town: The male is near a tree on the east side of the bridge. The female is on the northern side of the field, above a bombable entrance to an icy cave.

Bottle 1: Sera gives this bottle to you with milk at the beginning of the game.
Bottle 2: Purchased from Coro South of Faron Forest for 100 Rupees (includes Lantern Oil with purchase).
Bottle 3: Go to the Fishing Hole that Hena owns at the place called Upper Zora River. Go to the Fishing Hole and bobber fish at the bridge where there is a sign. The water is murkier than normal. This may require multiple attempts.
Bottle 4: Defeat and collect 20 Poe Souls and bring them to Jovani in Castle Town (all the cats must be able to dig where they are).
Howling Stone locations
Just before you enter the Forest Temple you automatically learn one move.
Death Mt.: In the place with a lot of geysers.
North Zora's River: Northeast of boat shop.
North Faron Woods: At the beginning of the Sacred Grove maze.
Lake Hylia: On a cliff at the south end. Climb up the ladder to get there.
Snowpeak: Climb up the mountain; near the secret underground cave entrance.
Forgotten Village: Jump through a window in the western building.
Sword moves
Ending Blow: When an enemy is on the ground, stab them.
Shield Attack: This attack lowers an enemies guard and lets you attack freely. It is useful against armored foes.
Back Slice: This move is rather difficult to perform. Lock on and jump around your enemy until you roll, then you swing your sword.
Helm Splitter: After successfully using a shield attack you can jump above an enemy's head and attack in mid-air, landing behind them.
Mortal Draw: As an enemy approaches you, press A. This will almost always kill the enemy.
Jump Strike: Lock on with Z and hold A to perform a powerful version of the jump attack. It hits multiple foes.
Great Spin: Upgrade your spin attack to have a longer range and to do more damage. However, you must have full health to use it.
Surviving energy balls
You can use an empty bottle against the energy balls that the possessed Princess Zelda shoots at you. It will work the same as the sword. It will look as if Link is punching the energy ball but it will not hurt him.
Defeating Aeralfos
Use the following trick to defeat Aeralfos (small flying dragon with shield) in City In The Sky. When it flies in the air, wait for it to put its shield up and flaps its wings rapidly. Then, Z target its shield and use the Clawshot to pull it towards you. Slash it as many times as you can. Do not use the Clawshot while it is on the ground or it will pull you towards itself and slash you. Keep pulling it towards you and slashing it until the Aeralfos falls and dies.
Defeating Darkhammers
When battling Darkhammers (for example, the three in the last room of the Cave of Ordeals), throw bombs. This takes their armor off quickly. Once all of it is off, it will dodge if you throw bombs. To kill it with the armor off, get close enough until it tries to hit you. Just before it hits you, roll out of the way to get in back of it. Then, just start slashing it with your sword.
Defeating the Dynalyfos Duo
When fighting the Dynalyfos Duo in the City in the Sky, do not keep attacking them; they will block all of your attacks then hit you with an attack of their own. Take out your ball and chain and throw it at them. They will be stunned for a few seconds. Try to get in a few attacks. Repeat this strategy until they are defeated. Alternately, when you enter the room stay where you are and take out your bow and arrow. Combine it with the Hawkeye and shoot the Dynalyfos. They will fly back against the wall. Repeat this until they are defeated. Note: You should have 60 arrows. Arrows are weak against them and you are likely to run out before you kill them. Although arrows are weak against the Dynalyfos, it is better than rushing into the battle and losing a lot of HP.
Defeating Fyrus
Shoot the crystal on his head. When he is stunned, go around and pull on either of the chains that are attached to his feet to trip him. Go up to his head and start slashing until he gets back up. Repeat this until he is defeated. If you are running low on arrows or health there are pots around the room.
Defeating Ganondorf
When fighting Ganondorf, take out the fishing rod. He will drop his guard and watch the bobber. While his guard is down, take out your sword and hit him. Repeat this until he is defeated.
Ganon will start the battle by taking over the Princess and knocking out Midna. She will fire balls of energy at you. When they hit, Midna will explain that your sword can reflect them. When it connects three times with Zelda, Midna will pull Ganondorf out of her and the next stage will begin. Ganon will turn into a large beast with a jewel in his head. Shoot the jewel with an arrow then attack his belly. He will disappear and red swirling portals will appear. One will turn blue before he charges at you from it. Continue shooting until he disappears each time you shoot him. Midna will tell you to turn into the beast. When Ganon charges again, target him and hold A, which will imitate the cattle wrestling from the start of the game. Midna will grab him and you must select a side to throw him to, then attack his belly. Ganon will appear to die but will return once more. Midna will use the fused shadows to try and kill his spirit while teleporting Zelda and Link away from harm. Hyrule Castle will explode from all the magic yet Ganon will remain. You will start the third stage of fighting Ganon with him on horseback and Zelda given Light Arrows from the Spirits. You must ride close to Ganon so she can shoot him then attack with your sword. Note: If Ganon gets behind you he will attack and knock you off then play chicken until you can get behind him again. After a certain number of hits on horseback, you will face him in a sword fight. He will teleport every so often, but you can easily roll away. The best way to kill him now is use the rolling attack from behind, then swing your sword afterwards. He will take the spinning hit and two slashes afterwards, but then block the rest. After this, Ganon will be defeated.
Defeating the Gerudo Temple Boss
An easy way to defeat this Boss is to use the spinner and go along the side of the sand pit he is in the middle of until you are directly behind him. Hit the "support bone" which is the spine. To hit the bone you must use the spinner's attack. Each time more skeletons will come up to block you from reaching the spine, but they do not regenerate. If you kill one, the next time you attack there will be a gap in the wall of skeletons which you can slip through and attack. After you have done this three or four times the sand drains and the head of the beast will still remain. Use the spinner to raise the platform. As you walk out, an intermission sequence of the head coming to life and knocking Link off the platform will play. You must use the spinner to climb the platform. After awhile the head will start shooting fireballs at you while you are climbing. The key here is to jump from the platform track to the track on the wall every time he tries to hit you with a fireball. The head will then get irritated and come in beside you, at which time you can jump and attack it with the spinner. When on the ground attack the sword that Zant puts in its head. Repeat this two more times to kill him and get a heart container.
Defeating heavily armored opponents
You first fight this heavily armored enemy as a mini-Boss in the Temple Of Time. You will then see him several times later as regular monsters. The strategy is the same each time. First, if you are having trouble timing the dodge to attack him multiple times, you can just wait and use the Mortal Draw ability when he gets close enough. Note: This does not work on the mini-Boss version, but works on every other one. He will lose one piece of armor every time you hit him with the Mortal Draw. When he throws his sword away he will begin wielding a smaller sword. Get close to him, roll behind him, and use the Rising attack (where you roll around him and rise up from the ground spinning). He will block the Rising Attack but will become vulnerable to regular attacks immediately afterwards. Do this three times and he will be defeated.
Defeating the Twilight Dragon
First, use the Double Clawshots and latch onto its tail when it is not attacking you. Immediately after latching onto its tail, use the Iron Boots to bring it down so its armor breaks. After doing this a few more times, he will rip off the rest of the armor and it will start to rain. The rain will bring floating plants from the ground that circle the battleground. Use the Clawshot on the plants and circle around the dragon while dodging his flame attacks. When you are behind him, use the Clawshot on his back and attack the jewel with your sword. After one or two more times, he will be defeated and you will get the last shard of the Twilight Mirror.
Defeating Twilight Monsters
An easy way to defeat Twilight Monsters is to kill the one that is not near you, then use the force field to kill the rest.
Defeating Zant
Zant will go through almost every Boss battle you have done so far. You must defeat him essentially the same way. The trick is remembering how you defeated the Boss in the first place. The final battle against Zant is fairly easy, but he moves erratically. Block his spin attack and do the rolling attack from behind to land more hits.
Malo comments
Malo is the little child who resembles an infant or toddler, but is in fact probably one of the smartest children in Hyrule. He tends to make fun of everyone he encounters. Here is how to get him to make some of his comments:
When you are showing everyone how to use the sword and the slingshot listen to Malo's response.
When you find him in Kakariko Village, enter his shop and he will say rude things to you.
When you are showing off your archery skills to the children, cancel. He will ask if you need more arrows. Say "No" and he will ask if you want to give up. Select "I am no quitter". He will then quickly respond with some snide comment about how slow you are.
After the store is closed in Kakariko Village, come back at certain times of the night. Before morning, he will leave comments on his door.
Make Midna mad
When you are restoring items such as the bridge in Kakariko Gorge, the fountain in Zora's Domain, or the bridge north of East Hyrule, go to the item. Then, warp somewhere besides where the location should be. Midna will get frustrated and yell at you.
Invisible sprinkler system
Once you finish restoring Darbus back to normal, go over to the bomb shop and enter the building. Find and stand next to Barnes. Take out your lantern and he will quickly tell you to put it out. Then, stand somewhere else out of sight of him. He will stomp the ground and spray water all over you. It does not matter where you are in the building. You will always get water sprayed on you if you pull out your lantern.

Easy unlocking

Use the following trick to unlock all characters in under two hours. Enter VS. mode, and select Special Match mode. Set it to Stamina and Flower modes. At the character selection screen, give the CPU 1 health and your character anything over 1 health. Also, make sure that it is on 1 Life Stock mode. Set the stage to Shadow Moses Island, at least until Snake appears and you defeat him. Keep playing this way for approximately two hours and you have around 500 VS. mode games played. By then, you should have unlocked all characters. Note: Make sure you are using a character you are good with because after a certain number of rounds, you will unlock each character and have to face them in a fight. It is 1 vs. 1 -- so it is recommended that you use a character like Ike, who hits very hard. However, do not worry if you lose; after one more VS. mode round, you will get to try again. -From: Austin Graham

Setup a Special Brawl. Choose the options "Stamina" (matches are based off of HP) and "Flower" (characters will have a health-draining Flower on their heads at all times). Play against a single CPU character, and set their HP to 1, leaving your HP anything higher than 1. When a fight starts, your opponent will automatically die from the flower (this is a self-destruct) and the match will end. This method is very useful for unlocking anything that requires "Brawl on [stage name] a certain number of times" or "Brawl with [character name] a certain number of times", etc. It can also be used to easily increase the number of Brawls played to unlock characters and Assist trophies. The only thing it cannot unlock is anything requiring standard Brawl victories, as it is a Special Brawl and not standard.

To unlock the 75m stage, you must play as Donkey Kong twenty times. To easily unlock the stage, go to Special Brawl. Change the settings so that you have a flower on your head and stamina is at 1 HP. Then, choose DK and any stage. When the match begins, you will instantly fall down and the match will end. Do this twenty times to unlock the 75m stage. Note: You can do this to unlock other stages too as long as you meet the requirements.

Character conversations

To perform Solid Snake, Fox, Falco, and Wolf's Smash Taunt, do the following. For Snake, go to the Shadow Moses Island stage, and quickly and repeatedly tap D-pad Down. Snake should crouch down and put his hand to his ear, occasionally nodding and seeming to speak to someone. He will then stand up and a beeping noise will be heard. Then, Snake and one of three characters (Colonel Roy Campbell, Mei Ling, or Otacon) will talk to Snake about the character you are fighting. For Fox, Falco, or Wolf, go to the Lylat Cruise stage, and quickly and repeatedly tap D-pad Down. Fox, Falco, or Wolf will bend down and start to rapidly shake his fist. After a brief period of time, Fox, Falco, or Wolf will stand up and salute someone off-screen. However, nothing will happen until you pass through the warp. Afterwards, Fox, Falco, or Wolf's team will start talking about the fight. What all the characters will say depends on where you are, leading to a total of five different conversations for all three characters. Note: This can also be done with Fox and Falco on the Corneria Melee stage.

Play on the Shadow Moses Island stage as Snake in Training mode and select Falco your CPU opponent. Quickly and repeatedly tap D-pad Down. When Snake kneels down, instead of Colonel Roy Campbell, Mei Ling, or Otacon calling him, Slippy from Star Fox will call him.

Easy CDs and Stickers

Unlock Stage Builder Edit Parts B. Then, create a level where there are conveyor belts running into a wall, and a platform somewhere in the level that a player can stand on and stay there. Plug in a second controller. Go into options, and turn every item except "Sandbag" off. Set items to high. Play in your "conveyor belt" created level in a regular Brawl. Have the second player jump and stay on the platform, so it is not in the way. When the Sandbags fall, they will stay at the wall. Use your character (Kirby's basic A attack, repeatedly, is recommended or another character that can hit many times quickly) to hit the Sandbags repeatedly. Since all other items are turned off, only CDs and Stickers will appear. This is the easiest way to get a lot of CDs and Stickers quickly.

Easy home runs in Home Run Contest

This trick works for any character. Immediately turn around, pick up the bat, and throw it at the Sandbag. You should not have to move much to pick it up again while it is still in the air. Throw it again. Repeat this process until you have about two seconds remaining. Then, go behind the bag, and smash it. You should be able to get at least 1,500 feet every time. Note: Do not hesitate or wait until the bag is stopped. You will lose precious time. Also, you will have to turn around to face the bag after each hit.

Easy combos in Training mode

Enter Training mode, and choose any character and stage. Select "Help on", and choose the smart bomb from the menu. Pick it up, go beside the other player, and throw it at them. Quickly pause the game, then select the smart bomb again. Then, choose only one smart bomb every second. If you select them too fast, you will run out. This will save you a lot of time.

Go to a stage where there is a wall that you can push the enemy up against (for example, Corneria, Temple). Push the CPU character up to the wall. Drop three of the Superspicy Curry items. Move forward to get the curry to move towards you. Duck (hold Down) and get the curry. It runs out after 155% (155 combos). As it gets close to that number, pick up the next curry and repeat. While doing the second curry, a third curry will disappear; pick it up in the middle. It is possible to get 367 combos on Marth by doing this.

K.K. Slider concert in Smashville stage

Set the system time between 8:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on a Saturday. Play any kind of Brawl on the Smashville stage from Animal Crossing, and K.K. Slider will play a concert in the background of the stage.

Big Jigglypuff

Play the Bridge Of Eldin stage with Jigglypuff. Break the Smash Ball, and wait until the ground breaks. When the ground is ready to return, go between the gap and press B. When it returns, Jigglypuff should be huge.

Stopping knockback effects with Ike

This trick allows you to endure a hit that usually causes the knockback effects when using Ike. When you are about to be hit by an objects such as a Smart Bomb, press Up + B to do Ike's special move, Aether. Your sword must still be alone in mid-air when hit. If done correctly, you will continue to jump upwards toward your sword after the hit has landed and finish the move. This is very useful and can be much easier to time and execute than sidestepping.

Switched music

Under the "My Music" settings, the Star Fox Melee stage's music themes "Corneria" and "Venom" are swapped.

Easy experience

After you complete Chapter 5, go back to Chapter 5-4. Go to the pipe that Sapiens keep coming out of, then jump on the block next to it and use Bowser's flame. He will keep killing all the Sapiens that come out. You can get 7,500 to 10,000 experience points every minute.

Get 500 Coins, then go to the Flopside and buy a special item that is 500 Coins and gives 10,000 experience points. Do not use it yet. Go to a world with a Slow Mo or Speed Up Flower and get one. Then, use it. You will get 30,000 experience points instead of 10,000 experience points.

Easy Rubees

Buy a lot of Catch-Cards; SPs are optional. Go to a level with Amazee Dazees (the flowers that shoot music notes). Catch as many as you can. Each Amazee Dazee card is worth 300 Coins.

Buy a lot of Life Shrooms in World 1-2. Cook them, then sell them in Flipside for 96 Coins each.

While in the VIP room, start spinning on the gerbil wheel, then jump to the right and run to the left. If you are still on the side, hold Down. If done correctly, you should be sliding and moving faster. This is helpful to getting a lot of Rubees.

Dashell Pixl

After completing the Pit Of 100 Trials in Flipside, you will fight a dragon, Wrecktail. This is a new version of the first Boss, with the same attacks and same way to defeat it. Once you defeat Wrecktail, you will get a new Pixl, Dashell, who allows you to run at very high speeds.

Piccolo Pixl

To get the Piccolo Pixl, you first must be able to visit Flopside. Visit Merlee on the second floor of Flopside and talk to her on the opposite side of the crystal ball. Next, talk to Merluvee in Flipside. Talk to Bestovious in Lineland. Talk to Watchitt in Yold. Then, give what Watchitt gave you to Bestovious. Give what Bestovious gave you to Merluvee. Give what Merluvee gave you to Merlee to get a key. Finally, go to the first floor of Flipside and open the locked door near the card shop. Free hints

Whenever you get stuck, save the game near your current location. Then, take the return pipe back to Flipside and go to the fortune teller. Once you have your hint, press Home and reset the game. You will return to your save where you were stuck and the price of the fortune teller's services will never go up.

Style moves

After landing on an enemy to do damage, you can twist the Wii-mote in your hands and shake it to execute Style moves. Holding Jump during this attack will cause you to jump higher, thus giving you more time to shake and line up for a follow up attack. The more Style moves you do in a row, the higher your multiplier will be. This will greatly increase the pace at which you gain levels.

Tiptron

At the end of the game, you will not have Tippi anymore. If you want a robotic version of Tippi, go to Chapter 3-4 (Fort Francis), and buy Tiptron for 999 Coins. Tiptron has the same advantages as Tippi. You can use him the same way and shows you the same things.

Throw Boomer

You must first have the exploding Pixl, Boomer. Set him down, then quickly go to the menu, and select the hand Pixl, Thoreau. Pick up Boomer, and you will be able to throw him at enemies or anything that looks like it could be blown up.

Shortcut in Chapter 3-1

In Chapter 3-1, there is an underground portion. Near the end, there are elevators going up. Ride them up and walk along the top. You will come to an area with three warp pipes. Take the middle one to end up much closer to Bowser's castle.

Getting the Space Helmet in Chapter 4-1

When you first enter the door to Chapter 4-1, you will not be able to breathe and need to find a Space Helmet. Exit and see Merlon. He will tell you he has something, but realizes he gave it away. Go to the third floor in Flipside to find a kid holding a fishbowl. Speak to him and he will give it to you, but you must first find a place to release the fish. Go to Flipside B1. Go to the right until you find a body of water. A dialogue will appear, asking if you want to release him. Say "Yes" and he will be released. Go back to Chapter 4-1 and you will be asked if want to use the helmet. Say "Yes" and you can continue.

Locked room in Merlee's mansion

When you have to pay 1,000,000 Rubees, earn 100 Rubees then find a man in red. Give him the 100 Rubees to get the code to get in the VIP room. Then, get 10,000 Rubees and give it to another person in red. Note: You must flip to find this one. He will give you the code to the safe, but you will need a certain Pixl to get to it. To save money, the code to the VIP room is "5963" and the safe is "41262816".

Guessing the real Merlee

Defeating Mr. L

Flying Mario

To get flying Mario, you need to get the sixth Grand Star that will open two new domes, "The Garden" and "The Gate". Enter "The Gate" dome, and talk to the red Luma that gives you a challenge to get all 100 purple coins. He will give you a red star that makes you fly after you spin in midair. After finishing that challenge, the same red stars will appear in the observatory to make Mario fly.

Higher jumps

To jump even higher than a triple jump, first do a triple jump. At the peak of your third jump, spin. This will make you jump higher so you can reach things that are too high to reach with a triple jump.

Homing attack

Spin in mid-air, then immediately press Z to hit the nearest target.

Super ground pound

Note: For a better effect, do the following at a high angle. Jump and spin. As soon as you see the light, ground pound. Mario will do a cannonball, then slam on his legs with his hands in the air. This is more powerful than a normal spin.

Assistant

While playing the game, use a second Wii-mote. Although a second player will not appear, the second Wii-mote will have its own pointer, allowing another player to assist by collecting items and helping Mario's jumps.

Sleeping Mario

Allow the game to idle for approximately one minute, and Mario will go to sleep.

Rosalina's bubble

Go to where Polara and Rosalina stand together by the beacon. Stand far enough away from Rosalina so that the talk sign does not appear. Then, try to jump on Rosalina. A bubble will form around her.

Attack Rosalina

Go to the room where Rosalina is standing. Zoom in, aim at her, and press B to fire a Star Bit at her. When it hits her she will jump because it scares her, and it will hurt her.

Jump towards the Beacon without being carried back to the platform

Perform a long jump (press Z then A while running) towards the Beacon (the big yellow ball off the platform where Rosalina is standing). If timed correctly, you will land under the Beacon without being carried away until you slide further away from the Beacon.

Flip the screen

Note: You must have the Engine Room dome unlocked. Go outside of the dome. Move slightly to the left, then jump off the platform, and slide down the curtain. After falling off the curtain, immediately Ground Pound and fall into space. A bubble will carry Mario or Luigi back up to the Engine Room. While he is going up, the screen will flip for about two seconds. Note: This may not work every time.

Defeating Bowser

As you are running up the stairs to fight Bowser for the final time, collect the 6 Life Mushroom and Life Shroom. You will first be on a sphere with spiky plants. Bowser will roll into a brick ball and chase you. When he is nearby, spin. Do this two times. Next, you will be at a rock with little plant things. He will breathe fire. Protect yourself by hiding behind the plant things. He will then curl up into his spiky shell and come at you fast. When he is close, hit the plant thing at him. Do this until you are at where you usually fight Bowser. Make him ground pound the glass and burn his tail. Hit him once, then hit him again when he is on his back. The last time you do this he will spin very fast. Time it, then hit him.

Pokemon reference in Buoy Base Galaxy

Above the tower where you collect the Blue Star Pieces is a little planetoid that is a sphere with two red panels on top and a lighter bottom with a screw in the middle. It looks exactly like a Pokeball.

Easy lives in Comet Observatory

At the Comet Observatory, run around and collect the 1-Up Mushrooms. Then, go into a Dome, come back out, and all the 1-Up Mushrooms will have respawned. Note: More 1-Up Mushrooms can be collected after you unlock the Red Star.

Shortcut in Deep Dark Galaxy

You can use the cannon on the beach for a shortcut. Normally you would need to use the cannon to shoot yourself to the nearby planet to get a Fire Flower then use the Jump Star to return to the beach so that you can light the two torches to open the door on the first Star, or the three torches to make the Ice Flower appear on the second Star. However, if you get in the cannon and turn it all the way to the left as far as it will go, you will see two yellow platforms moving up and down. Watch them carefully. When the farthest platform is up, line your crosshairs up with the side of it. Then, wait until the closest platform goes back up, and fire yourself in that direction. If timed correctly, the platforms will have switched again and you will hit the side of the furthest platform and fall on the ground. You must hit the wall or you will overshoot and die. This will put you inside the "bowel" area without opening the door on the first Star. If you are on the second Star, you will not have to worry about getting the Ice Flower to cross the lake and jump the faucets. You can just proceed right and climb the poles to get to the Bubble Shooter.

Getting Garbage Dump Star in Dreadnought Galaxy

This Star is difficult to get because the bombs do not seem to explode fast enough. First, place a bomb on all of the little yellow circles that you shoot to make a coin. This will provide the best blast coverage, so you will need six bombs. When the level starts, long jump the left-most bomb. Take it, run forward a bit, and throw it at the furthest left side yellow dot. Next, long jump back to the second bomb (from the left), and take that bomb. Turn around, and throw it. The bomb should land just about on the left side middle dot. Get the third bomb, and do the same thing. It should land just about on the right side middle dot. Next, take the fourth bomb, and run forward a bit. Throw it at the furthest right side dot. Long jump back to the first bomb again. It should be just barely shooting out another bomb. Take it, and throw it at the closest left side dot. Finally, get the second bomb (from the left), and toss it at the closest right side dot. When you pick up that last bomb, you should have about fourteen seconds remaining on the clock, and must have at least eleven seconds. It is important to take the second bomb for the closest right side dot because it lights when you pick it up. The bomb will already be active while you run to the dot. It is also important to get the bombs as close to the yellow dots as possible and execute all your moves flawlessly (no unnecessary jumps or spins) as every second counts. This will require some practice. You must experiment with how far Mario can throw the bombs. For the left and right furthest dots, try throwing them when you are even with the closest dots.

Quick start when racing Cosmic Mario in Honeyhive Galaxy

Before the race begins, hold Forward. Press Z to crouch when the timer reaches "2", then immediately press A when the race begins. If done correctly, Mario will turn yellow briefly and get a quicker start.

There is a comet where there are a lot of Star Bits. Grab onto the nearest grey tree, and collect all the Star Bits. You will get an extra life because of the number of Star Bits. Once you have collected all of the Star Bits, intentionally fall into the black hole. You will not lose a life because of the previously awarded extra life. After you have jumped into the black hole, you will respawn at the last grey tree you were on. Collect all the Star Bit again, and jump off. Continue doing this to get as many Star Bits as desired. Each time will result in about fifty Star Bits.

Easy lives in Space Junk Galaxy

Select the Tarantox's Tangled Web Star. Play through the level until you get to the glass-covered planet. If you have not already done so, feed the Hungry Luma fifty Star Bits. Use the Launch Star it creates to go to the Yoshi head planet. Then, without killing them, collect as many Goombas as possible, and get them to follow you. You will need at least eight of them. Jump and keep bouncing on them without hitting the ground. A number should appear that counts up to "7". On the eighth Goomba, you will start getting extra lives for every Goomba you bounce on. It is possible to get more than ten extra lives per attempt.

Quick start

When the countdown starts, wait until the "2" begins to disappear, then hold 2 to get a boost at the start of the race.

When the timer to begin the race just starts, hold 1 + 2. As soon as it is about to say "Go", release both buttons and press 2 as you would normally do to start the race. You must have drifting set to manual for this trick to work. Before the third strike from a POW Block, start to drift so that your kart or bike will be in the air for the third strike. When you land, you should only spin once and maintain about the same speed.

When an opponent uses a POW Block, it will spin you out on the third POW, causing you to lose an item and speed. However, if you perform a wheelie on a bike as soon as your hear the third POW, you will spin and lose your item but maintain your speed. Additionally, if you shake the Wii-mote, it will create a force field and protect you. While on a bike, after you are hit or run into an item, perform a wheelie to increase your speed quickly.

Drafting boost

To get a small boost while racing, get directly behind someone on a long straight road. You also cannot turn while doing this trick. If done correctly, you will see several blue streaks that fly behind you. Keep driving straight, and you will see a blue force field in front of you. You then will get a small boost.

Easy hit

To score an automatic hit on anyone in a race, place a banana or fake item box immediately after you land from a DK Cannon. They will be forced to land on it.

Use same character with more than one player

This glitch works because you are automatically placed on the character you last selected. First, make have player one choose the character desired. Next, deselect the character, and move off it. Have player two select the character. Go back one screen, then enter the character selection screen again. You should now both be on the same character. Then, have both players select the character. Note: This trick also works for three and four players.

Changing Mii driver's class

Enter the Mii Channel, and change the weight of your Mii. This will cause your Mii driver in the game to change to the corresponding weight class and give you access to the corresponding new vehicles.

Fast time in Coconut Mall

To get the Expert Staff Ghost on the Coconut Mall time trial, use the Wild Wing medium kart. Take a right into a store on the right side after the first escalator, then use a mushroom. You will see a Delfino tree person at the door.

DK Summit shortcut

After you shoot out of the cannon and come up to the turn, go off the jump toppers on the left. This should send you soaring through the curve and give you a good lead.

Hidden items in DS Delfino Square

Hit the crates on the side of the road with either your kart or a shell. A Super Mushroom will sometimes pop out, but very close to the edge.

Koopa Cape shortcut

Once you go over the ramp leading into the fast stream, keep going around, and enter through the little arch with the ramp on the left. This requires something that gives speed, such as a Super Mushroom, Invincibility Star, or Golden Mushroom. Instead of going around the giant red hat, pass through the grass behind it, giving a straightaway path. This will help you win the race and improve your ghost times in Time Trials mode.

Hidden items in Koopa Cape

After making the first jump, you will notice a few Goombas walking in place. Fire a shell at one to reveal either nothing or a Super Mushroom. You can also run into one if it is in the status of a Mega Mushroom, Invincibility Star, or Bullet Bill.

Hidden items in Maple Treeway

There are many leaf piles on the track. Run through one to reveal a Super Mushroom or Banana Peel. Once you get on top of the tree with the caterpillar creatures, an Invincibility Star may be found in one of the bushes on the left side of the treetop, but not on every lap. You may need to veer off to the left after hitting the bush because the star pops out jumping left. This is useful in getting far ahead of the group if in first place or to catch up if near last place.

Hidden items in Mushroom Gorge

There are some Goombas on the track that contain Super Mushrooms or absolutely nothing.

Using Triple Shells as ramming weapon

After you get a Triple Shell item of any color, press 2 so that all three are spinning around you. Before you launch them, you can use them to ram other cars. It does the same damage as if you launched them at an opponent.

Avoiding Spiky Shells

When you are in first place and have a Spiky Shell coming at you, hit the brakes so the racers behind you will get stuck in the blast, allowing you to keep your lead.

Defending against Blue Shells

This trick requires a Mushroom. The Blue Shell goes up and comes down. Before it hits, you will have time to use a Mushroom and avoid the shell. You should boost forward and the Blue Shell should explode behind you.

This trick requires some sort of speeding item, such as a Speed Mushroom. You must be in first place to get a Blue Shell targeted at you. Once the Blue Shell is above your head, use the speeding item just before it descends. It will make a large explosion behind you, but will miss. You can also avoid them by using the following tricks on the indicated courses:

DK Summit: Go through the DK Cannon.

N64: DK's Jungle Parkway: Go over the jumps over the yellow river.

GCN: DK Mountain: Go through the DK Cannon.

Defending against Red Shells

You can block Red Shells by equipping an item behind you. Once you have an item, hold D-pad Left or D-pad Right. Items that work are Green Shells, Red Shells, and Bananas. Do not hold Fake Item Boxes or Bob-ombs behind you.

Avoiding Red and Green Shells

To avoid a Red or Green Shell, go on a DK Cannon if one is available. The shell will disappear at the entrance. You can also use this trick for clouds. They will disappear above you on the cannons, and you will not be affected by them.

Getting rid of clouds

If you have a cloud over your head, ram into another player to get rid of it.

Team drafting boost

This trick requires two or more players. While playing in VS. Team racing, draft by following a friend somewhat closely from behind. Once you get the boost, go around him or her to take the lead in front of them. Have that friend draft behind you. Keep repeating this to quickly finish a race.

Winning online

A win counts as long as points are added to your total score. For example, if you get fifth, or sometimes sixth, place in an online race, it is still considered a win. The same goes for Battle Online. You can be on the losing team, but if you scored enough coins or hits and it adds points to your score, then it can be a win.

Golden Wii Wheel icon

After using the Wii Wheel extensively in all modes, a golden Wii Wheel will appear next to your name when you go online.

Profile name stars

You can add a star next to your profile name on the results screen and the Wi-Fi races by completing all Grand Prix races with a certain rank:

One star profile name: Earn a "One Star" rank in all Grand Prix races.

Two star profile name: Earn a "Two Star" rank in all Grand Prix races.

Three star profile name: Earn a "Three Star" rank in all Grand Prix races.

Rank requirements

The following are requirements to get a "One Star", "Two Star", or "Three Star" rank:

Get a final score of 53 or better.

Lead most of the laps.

Stay in first place for a good period of time.

Do a lot of tricks on ramps.

Avoid having to use Bullet Bills to catch up.

Use lots of techniques such as wheelies, avoiding POW Blocks, etc.

Do not fall off edges too much (one or two times is acceptable). If you get hit by many Spiny Shells and still win, this indicates that you are resistant and will probably have a high rank.

A perfect 60 is required for a "Three Star" rank. A "Two Star" rank ranges from 55 to 60. A "One Star" rank is 53 to 60 with most or all of these requirements.

Wii games that I get excited about are few and far between. I am always cautious going into a gamefor this platform because more often than not I am disappointed. Whether it is poor graphics or broken controls, something always seems to be wrong. It is with this mindset that I went into Boom Blox. Not expecting anything, I expected Boom Blox to be a competent Wii puzzler, and nothing more. However, my expectations were blown away almost from the moment I begun playing; I was very impressed with Boom Blox, overall.

The game's basic structure has to do with destruction. There are over 400 levels, and each one has a specific goal. These goals vary widely from finding hidden gems to exploding only a certain color or style of block. The game has very specific multiplayer and single-player challenges, and I was impressed with how non-repetitive the gameplay really is.

You wouldn't think there would be that much variation in a game with a main mechanic that involves destroying elaborate towers of blocks, but the addition of special blocks like Virus Blocks (which spread a block-breaking virus when hit) and Vanishing Blocks (which disappear on contact) add a certain amount of strategy to the gameplay, especially when you have a goal that places restrictions on how many shots you can take or the amount of points you need to accrue with a time period for success.

When you need to complete Larry's tongue slide, there are some short cuts you can follow. When you first begin to slide down the hill, you can bounce of a trampoline to the right. This will take you to an upper tongue slide hill. Once you get off it, look for another trampoline. It will take you to another place. From there, just follow the road.
Defeating Robo Patrick
To defeat Robo Patrick, wait until he spins around and gets dizzy. If he hits you, he will not get dizzy. Then, hit him in the back or butt. Do this three times and you will switch to Sandy. Do the same thing, except he will fill the pool with goo every time you hit him. Swing on the Texas things to make the boxes fall down. Use the boxes to get to him. Do this three times and you will be SpongeBob again. Wait until he spins and falls, but you cannot hit him with the wand. You must Bubble Bowl him in the back three times and u will win.
Defeating Robo Sandy
In the first part, dodge Robo Sandy's attacks until she gets tired and sits down, then do a bubble stomp (press B, then X). Do this three times. In the second part, as Patrick, do the same thing, only pick up the robot's head and throw it at the wires. Do this three times. Now, as SpongeBob again, do the bubble stomp only. When the robot holds out her head, press Y when you are under the red button. Do this three times and you will win.

Defeating Beetle
When battling Dr. Eggman's first robot, Beetle, collect the coins so you can dash him when he tries to pincer you. This fight consists of him releasing three boxes from a distance (just run around them), then moving in close to pincer you. Jump then dash in to him when this happens. Once he is down to a certain amount of health, a side view will appear. He will start on the right-hand side and fire three missiles. The pattern of how they come at you depends on how their engines fire up; watch closely. He will then move to the middle of the screen. He will pincer attack once or twice. Just dodge them. Finally he will move to your right again and try to pincer you. Jump, then watch for the homing target, and give it to him.
Defeating Dark Gaia
You will first play as the Gaia Colossus against Dark Gaia. When Dark Gaia opens his hands, quickly hit him with two hands or let him swing his arms and dodge them, giving you a chance to hit him with a normal punch until you finish him off. Next, you will play as normal Sonic. Start running through the Gaia Colossus, and dodge Dark Gaia's tentacles and bullets. Run to the Speed Dash, and hit the correct combination. You must do this three times, each time for one eye. The levels get more difficult, so be careful. Finally, you will play as Super Sonic. Start collecting rings, and attack Complete Dark Gaia's eyes (seven in total). You will need at least eleven rings to attack an eye. Keep track of your ring count. Start hitting the side eyes, and dodging the rocks that are ahead, which get harder by the eye, until he opens his middle eye. Attack the eye, look all around for flying rocks, and hit the last eye. The score is an "S" or "C", so watch your time.
Use the following trick to dodge Gaia's six hand attack. While playing as Super Sonic in the final showdown against Dark Gaia, when he has all his small eyes open, he will try to slash you. A short time later he will get mad and attack with all six claws. It is possible to dodge this attack. Go just under the big eye in the middle of the slash. There is a small square you can fit in. You will not take any damage. However, if you get slashed, you will lose all your rings and fall into the lava.
Defeating the Egg Dragon
The Egg Dragon is pretty easy to defeat. When he shoots ice balls at you, run away from them. When he shoots fire balls at you, jump or run away from them. When he comes in close to the rock field, jump and slice his power core (the light on his chest). Keep hitting it, then when he swings his sword later in the fight, double jump to avoid it. Finally, when he stabs the ground, jump.
Defeating aerial enemies
When fighting aerial enemies as Sonic the Werehog (Dark Sonic), jump and attack once to bring them down. Then, unleash your fury on them.

Battle Lou in Expert mode with Easy mode notes
When the battle with Lou starts at the end of the game on Expert mode, strum without holding any frets until you lose. At the "Game Over" screen, select "Tutorial". Before you start playing during the introduction, wrap a rubber band around Green. By doing this, you will not have to worry about holding Green, as it does it for you. Make sure you press the other buttons quickly so that Green can register. If you hold the buttons as you do the hammer-ons, Green will not register, and you will fail.
Hammering on and pulling off
Hammering on and pulling off happens when you can strum on one note and successfully hit the notes that come after it without using the strum bar. Look for the single notes with white rings on top instead of black rings. As long as you hit the previous note, you can hit the next note by pressing the correct fret button. This is especially useful on songs like Cult Of Personality on the Hard difficulty.
Predator reference
There is a reference to the movie Predator in the song "Helicopter". After playing the song, go to the "More Stats" screen, or to Practice mode, and get to the screen where you choose what section to play. One of the sections in the song is called "Get Back To The Choppa!!!", which seems to be a reference to Arnold Schwarzenneger's line in Predator, when they are all running away from the Predator.

Getting "True Hero" and "True Villain" ranks
Collect coins in a level to completely fill the "True Hero" or "True Villain" bar to get the corresponding rank for that level.

Arkham bonus level
Get a "True Villain" rank on all levels in the Villain storyline. To reach the mission, go to right of the Batcomputer. Go down the ramp, and pull the lever to get to the villains. Go through the door on the right, and look in the corner to reach the memorabilia room. Climb the ladder at the top to access the Arkham level.

Wayne Manor bonus level
Get a "True Hero" rank on all levels in the Hero storyline. To reach the mission, go to where the vehicles are in the Batcave. Go to the far right, then down to the bottom. Step on the elevator to go to the memorabilia room. The Wayne Manor mission is in upper left corner.

Play as Hush
Rescue all 25 hostages to unlock Hush.

Play as Ras Al Ghul
Get a 100% game completion by assembling all Minikits to unlock Ras Al Ghul. Note: You must first spend 4 billion Studs to unlock the last data item after buying all other data items.

Easy Studs
Successfully complete a level with The Joker. You should then have him in the prison. Go to the experiment room at the prison. Start zapping the Joker Henchmen that keep walking into the room. Zap the villain that follows you every so often. Every time you zap the villain that follows you, the Henchmen will give an increasing number of Studs after they are zapped and killed.

Power Brick locations
Power Bricks can be found at the following locations:

You Can Bank On Batman: The Power Brick is hidden on the left side of the cage that Clayface stands on.

An Icy Reception: In the building behind the catwalk after you find the ice cream on the floor, you must glide to the Power Brick from where you built the grappling grab spot. You will also need to do it in Free Play mode because you need someone who has super strength such as Clayface or Mr. Freeze.

Two-Face Chase: The Power Brick is hidden in the final stage of the level where you fight Two-Face. It is in the top left corner of the park on the left, behind some explosive barrels.

Riddler Makes A Withdrawal: Build a car out of the pieces of the neon light on the side of one of the buildings after you come out of the elevator. Take the car to the area where you build the wrecking ball. In the top right corner is a car compacter. Roll the car in there, then mind control the person to pull the second lever. Note: This must be done in Free Play mode.

On The Rocks: In the first room after you go inside, freeze all of the ice cream floats, and go across them. Do not mind control the person and raise the level. At the end of the floats is an iron gate. Blow it open, and go inside. Go up the ladder and down to where the hanging bars are located. Break the crates, build the switch, cross the bridge, and complete the glass sculpture. Note: This must be done in Free Play mode.

Green Fingers: In the room where you first use your power to grow plants, there is a ledge above the big plant thing. There are iron bars blocking the left passage of this ledge. Blow it open, and use Robin in the Attract suit to build a truck with a cake in the back. Bake the cake, and the Power Brick will appear. Note: This must be done in Free play mode.

Once you completed a movie you can play 15 levels of the bad side (Joker, Mr. Freeze, etc.) and you can use their cool powers. For example, Mr freeze has a freeze ray and the Joker uses a hand buzzer for their special powers.
